"So, where's home for you these days?" A simple question provokes a rather complicated answer in our case.
Where's home?
Home is Maryland, enveloping trees providing a haven of rest and familiarity. Maryland, the place of brotherly love and Mom's heartening meals. Anchor of family and treasured memories.
Home is Chicago, the birthplace of our love, the city where we learned life "on our own." Chicago, whose breathtaking architecture and complex design are forever impressed in our minds. Dwelling place of cherished friends and persisting reminiscence.
Home is England, where a young man first tasted life away from the familiar and redeveloped who he was. England, the land of enduring history and endless cups of tea. Presence of friends that grew to family.
Home is Spain, where a young woman learned to navigate life in her second language. Spain, home of multiple histories that echo through ancient sanctuaries. Budding relationships sparking deeper inspirations.
Home is Eternity, a longing yet to be fulfilled. Eternity, the restoration of relationship lost. Final rest, everlasting peace in the presence of our Maker.
Beautiful. Home is hard to define.
