The Novel Normal

We haven’t had a lush leafy salad in eight months.  But now we have it everyday.  There's so much foliage we can’t eat it fast enough!  Why is that, you ask?  Because it’s coming out of our ground!  We used to spend around $5/week on spinach and lettuce in the States.  But now we spend nothing!  True, money doesn’t grow on trees.  But food does!

Many find this act of growing a novel art.  So novel, in fact, that people write books about it.  In our home we possess a comprehensive guide to gardening.  It's rather exciting to us westerners.  But it's true that in our abode it's commonplace.  Everyone has a garden,  Not having one here would be considered novel.  And I'm not sure that many people here would read the book on the novel art of not gardening.  So I guess there's no need to write it.

taken two weeks ago.  They're almost to the top of the
trellis.
